Residence permit in Ukraine is a document that gives the right to a foreigner or stateless person to reside temporarily or permanently in Ukraine for a long period.

  4. full brothers, sister, grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter of citizens of Ukraine;

  5. former citizens of Ukraine;

  6. parents, husband (wife) of an immigrant and his minor children;

  7. persons who have continuously resided on the territory of Ukraine for three years from the date of establishment of the status of a person who has suffered from human trafficking;

Persons outside the immigration quota:

  1. persons who have served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for three or more years.

  2. one of the spouses, if the second of the spouses with whom he is married for more than two years, is a citizen of Ukraine, children and parents of Ukrainian citizens;

  3. guardians or trustees of citizens of Ukraine, or persons who are under the tutelage or guardianship of Ukrainian citizens;

  4. persons who have the right to acquire citizenship of Ukraine by territorial origin;

  5. persons whose immigration is of public interest to Ukraine;

  6. foreign Ukrainians, spouses of foreign Ukrainians, their children in case of their general entry and stay on the territory of Ukraine.

Getting a permanent residence permit is a time-consuming and time-consuming process, which includes:

  1. obtaining a permit for immigration - may take up to 1 year in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

  2. obtaining a visa type D to enter Ukraine on the basis of immigration - 5-10 days.

  3. obtaining a permanent residence permit - 1 week.

  4. registration in Ukraine (registration of a place of residing in Ukraine) - within 30 days from the moment of reception of residence permit.

The temporary residence permit in Ukraine gives the right to stay on the territory of Ukraine for 1 year or for the validity of the grounds for stay (but not more than 3 years).

The grounds for obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine are:

  1. employment in Ukraine;

  2. reunification with the family, where one of the spouses is a citizen of Ukraine;

  3. reunion with the family, where one of its members (spouse, children) has a temporary residence permit in Ukraine;

  4. implementation of the international technical assistance project;

  5. work in a religious organization;

  6. work in representative offices and branches of foreign organizations, companies or banks;

  7. cultural, educational, scientific and volunteer activities;

  8. work as a correspondent or representative of foreign media;

  9. obtaining an education in Ukraine.

Stages of obtaining a temporary residence permit:

  1. availability or receipt of grounds for obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine - the period for the preparation of documents depends on the basis for obtaining a residence permit, for each case - is individual;

  2. obtaining a visa type D for entry into the territory of Ukraine and obtaining a temporary residence permit (if there are no simplifications between Ukraine and the state of the alien's citizenship regarding the need for a visa) - from 5 to 10 days.

  3. obtaining a residence permit in Ukraine - up to 15 days.

  4. registration in Ukraine (registration of a place of residing in Ukraine) - within 30 days from the moment of reception of residence permit.

After receiving a residence permit, foreigners can stay in Ukraine for an unlimited period within the validity of the residence permit, and also have certain benefits that determine the type of residence permit.
